ChatGPT Free: Now Chat with a Powerful AI Without Creating an Account

OpenAI has announced that anyone can now use ChatGPT for free, and you don’t need to sign up for an account. This change is just for ChatGPT, though—other OpenAI services like DALL-E 3 aren’t included and you’ll still need an account to pay for those. OpenAI’s goal is to let more people explore what AI can do, which is why they’re making ChatGPT more widely available.

Since its launch in late 2022, ChatGPT has quickly become a hit, attracting many sign-ups for OpenAI accounts. Its success led to it becoming one of the quickest to gain popularity. Later on, OpenAI introduced paid subscriptions for using services like DALL-E 3 and higher-level models. OpenAI also offers DALL-E 3, a tool that can generate images based on text descriptions. However, DALL-E 3 requires an account for access to its full capabilities. To keep track of chat histories, share conversations, or engage in chats with voice, users are required to have an account.

ChatGPT is popular worldwide, with over 100 million users from 185 countries using it every week. It’s the top AI chatbot site, with 1.6 billion visits in February. While Google’s Gemini is becoming more popular, ChatGPT’s visits have slightly decreased from its peak in May 2023, when it had 1.8 billion visits.

OpenAI has put in place more safety measures to ensure that its new system doesn’t create content that falls into a broader set of restricted topics. They haven’t specified what all these topics are, though. Also, people using ChatGPT can choose whether or not they want their interactions to help improve OpenAI’s artificial intelligence, even if they don’t have an account.

OpenAI has introduced Voice Engine, a service for copying voices using AI, and Sora, a tool for making videos, but these are only accessible to a select group of users and partners right now. They’re not included in the benefits you get with an OpenAI account.
