- 2029 second-round pick (via Blazers)

What trade means: Philadelphia has struggled since Joel Embiid suffered a left meniscus injury on January 30th. The team has lost seven of its last eight games and will have to navigate at least four weeks without Embiid as he undergoes recovery from surgery. So far this season, the 76ers have only managed a 4-12 record in games where Embiid hasn’t played.
Hield is set to make $19.2 million this season, marking the conclusion of his four-year contract. With the Sixers struggling at a mere 31% from beyond the arc, they’re banking on Hield to not only bolster their outside shooting but also alleviate some of the burden on All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey, who has faced difficulties amidst Embiid’s absence.

Acquiring Hield won’t directly address Philadelphia’s frontcourt challenges during the center’s absence. However, it will provide the team with an extra perimeter scoring option and a potent threat from beyond the arc for the crucial stretch of the season and playoffs. Despite experiencing reduced minutes and role with the Pacers this season, Hield still ranks 15th in the NBA for 3-pointers made, showcasing his shooting prowess.
Hield’s resume: Hailed as one of the premier three-point shooters of his time, Hield has maintained impressive career statistics, currently averaging 12 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game with the Pacers. In the previous season, he showcased his consistency by appearing in 80 out of 82 games, boasting averages of 16.8 points, 5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
He set a franchise record with 288 successful 3-pointers, boasting an impressive 42.5% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc. He clinched the second spot in the NBA for 3-pointers made and ranked ninth for 3-point percentage.
