Scheffler Tees Off in Round 2 After Arrest Statement
Scheffler tried to drive into Valhalla Golf Club’s entrance on Friday morning and got arrested by the police in Louisville, Kentucky.
“I have something to tell you.”
This morning, I followed what the police told me to do. It was chaotic because of a sad accident earlier. I misunderstood what they wanted, but I didn’t mean to ignore them. Now, I just want to focus on playing golf. We all feel very sorry for the family of the person who died in the accident.Â
Scheffler was accused of hurting a police officer, damaging property, driving recklessly, and not following directions from a traffic officer.
Scheffler was let go without bail and got to Valhalla Golf Club at 9:12 in the morning Eastern Time.

The PGA of America said the person who was harmed was named John Mills.
This morning, we were very sad to find out that someone who worked for one of our partner companies was hit and killed by a shuttle bus outside Valhalla Golf Club. This news is really sad for everyone involved in the PGA Championship. We want to send our deepest sympathies to their family and friends.
The second round started at 8:35 a.m. Scheffler started playing at 10:08 a.m. He was 4-under par and behind leader Xander Schauffele by five shots.
