Nikola Jokic’s stellar performance of 35 points and 10 rebounds led the Denver Nuggets to secure a late victory over the Los Angeles Lakers with a score of 124-114 on Saturday night, despite LeBron James reaching the remarkable milestone of 40,000 career points.

Denver secured their sixth consecutive victory with a clutch 3-pointer from Aaron Gordon with 3:49 remaining, reclaiming the lead. The Nuggets sealed the win with a strong finish, outscoring their opponents 16-6. Michael Porter Jr. showcased his sharpshooting skills by sinking all five of his 3-point attempts, totaling 25 points. Jamal Murray contributed 24 points along with 11 assists, while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 18 points.

James notched 26 points and dished out nine assists, reaching a new milestone in the process, but the Lakers fell short of securing their third consecutive victory. A special video presentation was shown in the arena, and James excitedly raised the ball over his head, eliciting cheers from fans sporting jerseys representing his various teams throughout his career.
