The Edmonton Oilers heard a familiar song, but it wasn’t because they won the game.

Dallas Stars Turn Oilers

The Stanley Cup playoffs can make people show their best and worst sides.

Last night’s game showed the Edmonton Oilars at their best, especially in the first period. They dominated with 16 shots to 4, even though the score was tied 1-1 after the first period. Connor Brown and Jamie Benn scored the goals in that period.

The Oilars only had 13 shots for the rest of the game, while the Dallas Stars took control, shooting 21 times in the last two periods. The Stars won the game 3-1.

Even though the Oilers lost, the Stars did something interesting with the music played in the arena after they won.

The person in charge of music at the American Airlines Center, where the Stars play, decided to play “La Bamba” after the team beat the Oilers.

I enjoy seeing playoff teams being petty with each other. It’s all in good fun and doesn’t harm anyone, whether they’re fans or players. Maybe a few egos get bruised, but it’s nothing serious.

It’s unclear if the Oilars players heard the song, but if they did, it probably motivates them to make sure it’s played for a better reason next game.
