Miss Teen USA UmaSofia resigns after Miss USA

UmaSofia- Srivastava, who is 17 years old, shared on Instagram that she’s resigning because “my own beliefs don’t match up with where the group is going anymore.”

Miss Teen USA decided to quit on Wednesday. This comes just two days after Miss USA also said she’s resigning and giving up her crown.

UmaSofia Srivastava, who’s 17 years old, shared on Instagram: “I’ve thought a lot about it, and I’ve decided to quit because my beliefs don’t match where the organization is heading anymore.”

Srivastava said, “I’m thankful for my family, state directors, sister queens, and fans who supported me since I became Miss NJ Teen USA. Representing my state nationally as a first-generation Mexican-Indian American was an amazing experience that I’ll always cherish.”

Noelia Voigt stepped down as Miss USA this week because she needed to focus on her mental health.

Last week, the person in charge of social media for Miss USA quit. Claudia Michelle said on Instagram that she noticed the mental health of someone named Voigt getting worse and saw disrespect towards Srivastava and her family.

Michelle expressed her disapproval of how the bosses discuss their employees, citing it as unprofessional and unacceptable. She opposes all types of mistreatment or bullying at work.

Laylah Rose, who runs Miss USA, told NBC News on Wednesday that making sure everyone involved with Miss USA is safe and happy is her main focus.

“As the leader of this organization, my main aim has always been to encourage women to dream big, be brave, and stay true to themselves. I strive to live by these values myself. Recently, there have been some serious accusations made against me, and I want to assure you that I’m taking them very seriously.”

Srivastava promised to keep supporting education and making sure everyone feels accepted.

People liked the children’s book she wrote, “The White Jaguar.” Both kids and grown-ups gave positive feedback. This book helped her make a mark in her field.

This book tells the story of a jaguar who gets lost from her family during a big fire. As she tries to find her way home, she discovers that she looks different from other jaguars. Along the journey, she learns to love herself for who she is.

Srivastava is excited to complete her third year of high school and start applying to colleges.

She said, “Big thanks to those who support me for who I truly am, not just for who I seem to be at the moment.”

On Monday, Voigt said she’s quitting as Miss USA to focus on her mental health. Voigt, 24, won the crown in September. She shared on Instagram that she’s stepping down.

“Inside, I feel like this is just the start of something new for me. I hope I can keep inspiring people to take care of their mental health, speak up for themselves and others, and not be scared of what’s to come, even if it seems unsure.”

Miss USA said on Monday that it respects Voigt’s choice to resign, and they have accepted her resignation.

“We understand and support Noelia Voigt’s choice to resign from her role as Miss USA. The happiness and health of our titleholders come first, and we respect her decision to focus on herself right now.”
