Trump says his trial was rigged
Rigged- The day after being found guilty of 34 felony charges for falsifying business records, former President Donald Trump spoke at Trump Tower, claiming he is innocent.
He repeated several untrue statements about his criminal trial and complained about a gag order he is still under. He also mentioned that he wanted to testify in his own defense but was advised not to.
Trump’s comments were a mix of defending himself against his guilty verdict and attacking his opponents in his presidential campaign. He repeatedly criticized both the court and President Joe Biden, trying to wrongly link them together.
“They are completely working with the White House and the DOJ,” Trump said about the court.
There’s no proof to back up the claim. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg brought the case against Trump, and it was handled under New York state law. This means the case had nothing to do with the White House or the Department of Justice.
Trump again claimed that the judge, Juan Merchan, had a serious conflict of interest. However, there is no proof of this.
He complained that he didn’t get to testify in the case.
Trump also talked about other topics, including his complaints about the 2022 allegations made against him by the committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.
He also went into campaign mode for a while, repeating his usual anti-immigration talk. He claimed that American schools are full of students speaking “languages we haven’t even heard of.”

He spoke from the lobby of the Trump Tower, a day after being found guilty of a crime, making him the first president ever to face this. Despite this, experts say it’s unlikely he’ll go to jail.
If Trump doesn’t go to jail for the New York case, he might be able to vote this autumn.
A few people cheered now and then while Trump spoke. The night before, a group of people gathered outside Trump Tower and shouted, “New York hates you.”
After Trump said something, President Biden talked about Trump’s punishment for the first time since Trump was found guilty.
He told reporters at the White House that in America, everyone must follow the law, no exceptions.
He said it was a trial by the state, not the whole country, and explained that everything went the way it should. He mentioned Trump can ask for another chance to argue his case. “That’s just how things are done in America,” he explained.
He strongly criticized Trump’s comments about the case.
Saying the decision was rigged just because you disagree with it is risky, unsafe, and not the right thing to do.
Biden said the U.S. justice system is really important and should be respected because it’s the foundation of America. He emphasized that we must never let anyone destroy it. It’s that straightforward.
