Punk Fan Partially Paralyzed by Singer’s Stage Dive in NY Show
A punk-rock fan got seriously hurt at a concert in New York when the lead singer of the band jumped into the crowd and landed on her. Now she’s partly paralyzed because of a bad spinal cord injury.
Bird Piche had a big operation after getting hurt at a concert by the Australian band Trophy Eyes on April 30 at Mohawk Place in Buffalo.
A family friend said that the 24-year-old broke her neck, but now she can feel her fingers again.
On social media, there’s a video of the band playing at a small place. You can spot Ms. Piche easily with her pink hair in the middle of the crowd. Then, the lead singer, John Floreani, jumps into the crowd and lands on top of her.
Leo Wolters Tejera, a family friend who was at the concert, quickly realized that something was wrong.
“Despite her neck being broken, she has regained sensation in her arms and can now utilize her fingers and hands.” Mr. Tejera told WKBW.
Trophy Eyes posted on their social media that they were really sad about what happened at Mohawk Place. It really upset them a lot.
“After a sad accident on April 30th during our show in Buffalo NY, a fan of Trophy Eyes got hurt. We decided to stop the show right away. John went with them to the hospital along with their family.”

Trophy Eyes donated $5,000 to Ms. Piche’s GoFundMe page. The page has collected over $50,000 for her. Ms. Piche is still in the hospital, so it’s too soon to know how she’ll recover. After she leaves the hospital, she’ll go to a rehab center for further treatment.
“We’ll share more info as she feels comfortable. The money will cover medical costs and anything she needs for daily life after the accident.”
