Nvidia CEO Anticipates AI Surpassing Human Exam
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang predicts that within five years, AI will surpass humans in all tests, and he also suggests that AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) is on the horizon.
Nvidia, a leading chipmaker, played a significant role in developing OpenAI’s ChatGPT by leveraging thousands of Nvidia GPUs. The company’s commitment to AI, as highlighted by CEO Jensen Huang, underscores its importance in shaping the future. Recently, Huang garnered attention by suggesting that AI will make everyone a programmer in the future, eliminating the need to learn coding. Now, he’s making headlines again by predicting that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is likely to emerge within the next five years.
Nvidia CEO Anticipates AI Excelling in All Human Tests
During a recent economic forum at Stanford University, the CEO of Nvidia suggested that achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI) could be possible within five years, depending on its definition. Jensen Huang elaborated that if AGI is defined as the capability to pass human tests, it might occur soon. He expressed optimism that within the next five years, AI could demonstrate proficiency in various tests commonly encountered in the computer science field.
“He expressed confidence that if we were to subject an AI to an exhaustive battery of tests across all conceivable domains, and present this comprehensive list to the computer science community, he anticipated that within five years, the AI would excel in every single test,” as reported by Reuters.
Currently, AI can successfully navigate certain tests like legal bar exams, but it faces challenges with more specialized exams. Huang believes that within the next five years, AI will advance enough to tackle all types of exams.

Acknowledging the complexity of the task, Huang pointed out that achieving AGI might be more distant than anticipated, given the various interpretations of the term and the ongoing challenges in comprehending the workings of the human mind. He further emphasized the hurdles engineers face in pursuing this objective without precise definitions.
What is AGI?
AGI, or Artificial General Intelligence, refers to the idea of machines achieving a level of understanding and autonomy comparable to that of humans in comprehending and interacting with the world.
Since ChatGPT gained popularity, numerous tech experts have been discussing AGI. Some express concerns about its potential danger and threat to humanity, while others highlight its benefits across different fields.
In a previous interview with Wired, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized his focus on the potential benefits of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) rather than fixating on the concerns surrounding its emergence. He expressed a personal connection to this perspective, sharing that he was “haunted” by the fact that the Industrial Revolution took longer to reach the regions where he grew up.
He expressed his quest for something potentially surpassing the impact of the Industrial Revolution, aiming to extend its transformative power to every corner of the globe.
