Meijer, a big grocery store, wants to help people in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) get healthy food easily.

Meijer now lets you use SNAP

Now, Meijer’s mobile app lets you use SNAP benefits to buy groceries from home. You can use it for pickup, delivery, or scanning items while you shop to skip the checkout line.

Last week, the company started a new program. They noticed it’s when families in the Midwest, who have school-aged kids eligible for SNAP, get $40 each month on their EBT cards for the summer.

“Calli Schmid, who works at Meijer, says they’re now accepting SNAP benefits on their app. This means people can use SNAP to buy groceries online, giving them more choices and making it easier to eat healthy.”
