John Force got hurt when his car’s engine exploded and caught fire on Sunday afternoon at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.
During the first round of Funny Car races at the PlayNHRA Virginia Nationals on Sunday at Virginia Motorsports Park, John Force’s car had an engine explosion at the end of the race. After that, it veered across the centerline, hitting both guard walls before finally stopping, according to the National Hot Rod Association.

“The NHRA Medical Team quickly checked force at the track before being taken to a nearby hospital for more tests.”
Force, who is 75 years old, is known as a drag racing legend. He has won more than twelve championships during his career.
Force won his 157th NHRA race earlier this month, setting a new record.
