GRAND BLANC, Mich. (WXYZ) — The lucky recipient of a substantial Powerball jackpot purchased the winning ticket at the Food Castle in Grand Blanc, the state Lottery Commission has confirmed. This latest Grand Blanc Lottery winner is now ready to enjoy an incredible windfall from his luck.

The prize money awarded is a staggering $842.4 million, the 10th largest prize in US history. The Commission has specified that its lump sum value is $425.2 million, both figures being applied before any taxes.

At the moment, the Commission reports that the winner has not yet stepped forward.

On Tuesday afternoon, Jacob Nannoshi sold Powerball tickets to Tony Nukullaj, who is looking to repeat the same fate as the New Year’s winner, Grand Blanc.

“It’s a huge amount of money. Amazing. Truly a blessing,” Nukullaj shared with 7 Action News.

Nukułaj noted that he has visited Food Castle sporadically over the past seven years.

One never knows; perhaps there is a possibility that something similar could happen for me here too.”

Food Castle manager Nannoshi marveled, “The possibilities are incredible. What are the possibilities? Right here at my store?”

There was constant excitement over the winning ticket throughout the day after he woke up.

“This morning, I received a call and several text messages congratulating me on winning an important Powerball prize,” he recalled.

Nannoshi expressed a little surprise and remained unaware of the identity of the winner, but he hoped it might be one of his regular customers. He sees this possibility as a positive outcome for the community.

“Initially I didn’t know it had reached such a high level. It felt strange to learn about it. You hear about it everywhere, but when it happens here – you know what I mean? It happened at my store.

This win turns into a Food Castle win, making them eligible for a $50,000 prize for selling the winning ticket. Nannoshi has outlined a plan to use the proceeds meaningfully.

Nannoshi mentioned that the store had sold $300,000 worth of tickets a few years ago. Given this history, is it possible that another winning prize of this size will be sold from this location in the future?

That wouldn’t surprise me. This shop seems to be a hotspot for luck.” “This is the perfect way to start the new year. Absolutely, without a doubt, 100%.”

The money generated from the sale of lottery tickets contributes to supporting the school relief fund. Last month, the Michigan Lottery reported an allocation of more than $1.3 billion for fiscal year 2023.
