Anant-Radhika wedding
On Tuesday, Mumbai police arrested a 32-year-old engineer for posting a bomb threat on social media regarding the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Earlier, the police had started investigating the post about a possible bomb threat at the wedding of billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani.
According to a police official speaking to PTI, the accused Viral Shah, who hails from Vadodara, was arrested from his residence in Gujarat this morning by the Mumbai Police Crime Branch.
A social media post shared by user @FFSFIR suggested a devastating scenario: If a bomb exploded at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, it could turn the global economy upside down.
“A disturbing thought came to my mind that if a bomb exploded at Ambani’s wedding, it could shake half the world. Trillions of dollars in one place.”
Police officials saw the social media post reported by a concerned citizen, after which they found that the bomb threat was false, but increased security around the wedding ceremony in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex.
During the investigation, the suspect was identified as X, who was found in Vadodara. Following this, a team of the Mumbai Crime Branch was sent to the neighboring city, where they nabbed the accused. Currently, the accused is being taken back to Mumbai.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, married Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoon Viren and Shaila Merchant, in a star-studded ceremony held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai.
The week-long wedding celebrations, which began on July 12, were attended by celebrities, businessmen, billionaires, and top politicians from across the world. These included Mukesh Ambani’s younger brother Anil Ambani and his wife Tina Ambani.
