According to Gurman’s latest report, there’s buzz among Apple engineers suggesting that iOS 18 will bring about the most significant overhaul yet to the iPhone’s operating system. Rumored to feature innovative generative AI capabilities for Siri, as well as enhancements to Spotlight search and various native Apple apps like Apple Music, Messages, and Shortcuts, this update is generating quite a bit of anticipation. Additionally, there are expectations for RCS support to be integrated into the Messages app, along with possible design tweaks.

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, has consistently mentioned that the company will provide more information about its generative AI projects later this year. Apple typically unveils its latest iOS version at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Following this pattern, iOS 18 is anticipated to be announced at WWDC, with a subsequent release to all users in September, coinciding with the launch of the new iPhone 16 models.
